Embeds

The Embeds screen in Site Settings turns widgets from your Beamly project into a snippet you can paste anywhere HTML is allowed. These can be used directly for your Beamly site, but also on any other site if you prefer.

Your content already lives on a Beamly website that updates when you publish. Embeds let that same player, episode list or subscribe row show up in places you do not edit with the page builder or content editor. Listeners can hit play without leaving the page they are already on, and the widget still pulls from your live site.

If you are designing a Beamly page, drag the widget in from the page builder instead or the content editor. Native widgets are easier to edit later. Use Embeds when the destination only accepts a code snippet, or when the page is not on Beamly at all.

Managing Embeds

The screen has two panes. On the left you pick a widget and change its options. On the right you get a live preview. When the preview looks right, copy the embed code and paste it where you need it.

Each type of widget has its own settings, and you can customize multiple widgets in different ways - each time you copy the generated code snippet it'd keep your changes whenever you use those.

The Frame background color setting can be used to either enable or disable a background color on the embedded frame. By default it's enabled and will use your website's background color, but you can also disable it if it makes more sense to use a transparent background.

When the preview looks right, click Copy embed code and use it on any other website or area where you can drop-in plain code. (Beamly has the "Embed Code" widget for that)

What you can embed

Embeds cover the widgets people may usually share off-site. Here are a few examples that come up a lot:

A single episode or video on someone else's page. Use the Media Player widget, set the type to Podcast or Video, then paste the episode slug.

A list that stays current. Embed Episodes, Playlists, Videos or Blog Posts. New public items show up in the embed after you publish. You are not pasting a frozen screenshot of this week's feed.

Subscribe buttons on a bio or about page you do not control. Apple, Spotify and the rest stay in sync with the links you already manage on Beamly.

Social proof on a sales page. Reviews or Review Carousel, using the reviews imported or collected on your site.

A course teaser on a separate marketing site. Lessons or Courses, if those exist on the Beamly site.

You can place more than one embed on a page. Each snippet is independent. A post might open with a player for this week's episode and end with Recent Episodes so the next click stays in your catalog.

Copy embed for individual an episode or video

On a your podcast's (or video channel) episode list, open the additional menu (the three-dot control on the right end) and choose Copy embed. That copies a Media Player snippet already pointed at that episode.

Copy link is next to it and copies the episode or video page URL instead of a player. Use the link when the destination cannot run HTML. Use the embed when they can hit play in place.
